What is a newsfeed?
RSS feeds or newsfeeds give you the opportunity to monitor websites on an ongoing basis without continual surfing. The work is done by a so-called newsreader. This monitors the list of websites selected by you and automatically transfers up-to-the-minute news to your computer.Once transferred, this is prepared in a user-friendly fashion and can, as in an e-mail program, be grouped, sorted, read and of course deleted as required. So you keep up to date without having to be active yourself.
How can I receive/read the newsfeed?
To read a newsfeed you need a so-called newsreader. This is a piece of software that either runs in a web browser (online newsreader) or has to be installed (offline newsreader). After starting the program you can add newsfeeds from various internet sites. Simply select the option "Feed/Add channel" and enter the following address: http://feeds.feedburner.com/bauerfeind_usa
The software does the rest. If you are no longer interested in a topic (newsfeed), simply delete it from the list of monitored websites and it will no longer be sent in the future.
How and from where do I get a newsreader?
There is now a whole range of newsreaders – most of them free. They vary in range of functions and ease of use. At the end of the day, you decide which is right for you. Here is a selection:
